Denim on denim.

Der Sommer feierte die letzten Tage ein kleines Revival in Berlin. Grund genug meine geliebte Sandalen aus dem Schuhschrank zu holen um sie ein letztes Mal auszuführen. Aber es soll heute nicht um die Sandalen gehen, das hatten wir ja schon zu genüge. Nein, diesen Post widme ich einem der besten Stoffe die es gibt: Denim! Das erste was einem da in den Sinn kommt ist ganz klar die Jeans. Doch was macht Denim so besonders? Der Stoff ist strapazierbar und unheimlich vielseitig. Eine gute Jeans lässt sich beispielsweise locker ein paar Jahre tragen. Ob used oder clean, verschiedene Waschungen ermöglichen es eine Vielzahl von Looks zu kreieren. Doch auch als Jacke ist Denim nicht zu verachten! Ein "Jeans on Jeans" Look macht optisch einiges her und ist schnell kombiniert. Je nach belieben kann man unterschiedliche Waschungen und Farben miteinander kombinieren. Ich als großer Anhänger einfacher und cleaner Looks kombiniere eine dunkle Jeans ohne Waschung mit einer farblich passenden Jacke. Als kleinen Hingucker habe ich das Levi's Logoshirt gewählt. Es poppt aus dem tief dunklen Denim heraus und verleiht dem Look das gewisse Etwas.  Alles in allem wirkt das Outfit modisch aber nicht zu aufgesetzt. Ich finde der leicht rockige, jedoch nicht abgeranzte Touch macht das Outfit besonders cool! Was meint Ihr?

Summer came back for the last days to Berlin. That was the perfect occasion for me to wear my beloved sandals.. maybe the last time this year. But today I don't want to write about sandals, we had that quite a lot in the past posts. No, today it is all about denim! The first thing one will mention is definitely the jeans. The tissue is durable and super versatile. If you have a good jeans you can easily wear it for a couple of years. No matter if used or clean, different colors and types allow you to create many different looks. But Denim is also cool in form of a jacket! A "jeans on jeans" look is easily combined and works optically very well. At will you can combine different types together. As a fan of simple and clean looks, I combine a simple dark blue jeans with the matching jacket. As a little highlight I have chosen the Levi's logo shirt. All together the look appears fashionable but not superimposed. I think the slight rocky touch provides a cool look! What do you think?

Vintage mood +new tattoo.

Heute gibts mal was ganz anderes für eure Augen! Wie der Titel des Posts ja schon verrät, geht es um Vintage Mode. Sicher, normalerweise bin ich eher modern und minimalistisch angehaucht. Doch irgendwie reizte es mich mal einen kleinen Ausflug in andere Gefilde der Mode Landschaft zu unternehmen. Gesagt, getan! Da war es natürlich von Vorteil, dass wir Kontakt zu Raffaele (dem Betreiber eines Vintage Showrooms) haben. Also haben wir ihm eines Nachmittags einen Besuch abgestattet, um mich in Vintage zu hüllen. Die zwei Outfits findet ihr unten. Oh, nicht zu vergessen: Es gibt auch ein neues Tattoo zu bestaunen!

Today I have something totally different for you! As you can guess from todays topic it is all about vintage fashion. Sure, normaly I am more into modern and clean looks. But somehow I got excited by the thought of dressing up in a vintage mood. No sooner said than done! It was very beneficial that we know Raffale (a owner of a vintage showroom), who supplied us with the clothes. So we decided to pay him a visit for an afternoon. By scrolling down you will see the two looks. Oh and by the way, there is a new tattoo I got!

Beim ersten Outfit haben wir eine kleine Zeitreise unternommen. Es ist aus Teilen unterschiedlichster Dekaden zusammengestellt: Die Jacke ist aus den 1900' und handmade, das Arbeiter Shirt aus Italien stammt aus den 40ern, die Accessoires (Schal und Schiebermütze) aus den 60ern. Wie ihr seht, ein bunter Mix! Es war durchaus etwas ungewöhnlich für mich in dieser Montur. Doch nach einer kurzen Eingewöhnung, fing es mir an zu gefallen! Was mich an dem ganzen Look am meisten begeisterte war, dass die Teile obgleich ihres "fortgeschrittenen Alters", noch richtig gut in Schuss waren. Hut ab!

The first looks goes under the motto "time journey". It consist of pieces from a variety of decades: The jacket is handmade and from the 1900'!! The Workers shirt is handmade as well, from Italy and from the 40's. It was much used for the german industry. Accessories (scarf and flat cap) from the 60's. As you can see a colorful mix! I have to admit that it was really unusual to dress like this, but after a short while I started to like it! What deligthed me mostly, was the fact that every piece was in a really good condition, even though of their "advanced age". Hats off!

Das zweite Outfit entspricht schon viel mehr dem, was ich im Alltag tragen würde. Sportlich, lässig und cool. Das Highlight des Looks ist definitiv das original japanische Baseball Jersey aus den 70ern. Ist es nicht der Wahnsinn?! Nur ein klein wenig zu lang. Oder ich zu kurz. Who cares! Meine Beine umhüllt eine Tiger of Sweden Jeans aus den Eighties. Damals wie heute eher eng anliegend. Die lederne Sportsbag von Ekolovesanimal rundet das Outfit ab. Alles in allem ein Look an dem ich gefallen finde.

The second outfit is more like what I would wear in my spare time. Sporty, casual and cool. The highlight is definitely the original japanese baseball jersey from the 70's. Isn't it awesome?! Just a little too long. Or I am to short. Who cares! On my legs I wear a Tiger of Sweden jeans from the 80's. The leather sports bag from Ekolovesanimal completes the look. All together a outfit I really like!

Als krönenden Abschluss des Ganzen, habe ich mir noch ein neues Tattoo stechen lassen. Lustigerweise ist Raffaele nämlich auch als Tattoo Artist unterwegs und bot es mir an. Er hats auch echt drauf, wie ihr sehen könnt! Checkt auf jeden Fall mal seine Seite und wenn ihr euch in Berlin ein Tattoo verpassen lassen möchtet, schreibt ihm. Ich kann ihn nur weiterempfehlen. Es war in jeder Hinsicht ein toller Tag!

As a little highlight to end the day, I got myself a new tattoo! Since Raffaele is a tattoo artists, I couldn't resist to be spontaneous. As you can see he has a great style! Color on the empty canvas.

Das Thema dieser Woche steht ganz unter dem Motto "Color up your life"! Seit längerer Zeit schon beschäftigt mich die Wirkung von Farben. Sei es alleinstehend oder in Kombination. In der Kunst oder aber der Mode. Sie sind allgegenwärtig und doch schenkt ihnen keiner so recht Beachtung. Also nahm ich mir Zeit, um mir darüber klar zu werden, welche Farben mir eigentlich persönlich gefallen und wie ich diese kombinieren würde. Lasst mich euch zwei meiner liebsten Varianten vorstellen.

Als Grundlage meiner Outfits habe ich mich für einen All white everything look entschieden. Ist ja gerade eh der letzte Schrei. Unabhängig davon sieht es einfach super reduziert und clean aus. Und so mag ich es am liebsten! Die Inspiration hierfür bezog ich aus der Kunst. Jedes Kunstwerk beginnt mit einer weißen Leinwand, welches durch das Auftragen der Farbe an Persönlichkeit gewinnt. Diesen Gedanken wollte ich auf meine Outfits übertragen.

This weeks topic is all under the slogan "color up your life"! I have been quite occupied by the thought how colors work. Single or in combination. In arts or fashion. They are everywhere but no one really pays attention. Hence I started to think about, which colors I actually like and how I would combine them. Let me show you my two favorite versions.

The ground of my looks is an all white everything combination. On the one hand it is super fancy at the moment. On the other hand it looks really clean and reduced. Just as I like it! I got my inspiration from Art. Every painting begins with a empty canvas, which gets its personality by using colors. I wanted to transfer this idea to my looks.

Das erste Outfit beinhaltet eine, wenn nicht sogar DIE , Farbe des Spätsommers/Frühherbsts. Rost! Für mich ist diese Farbe mystisch. Irgendwo zwischen Orange und Rot versprüht sie die Leidenschaft eines Rottons und dabei doch die Geborgenheit der aufgehenden/untergehenden Sonne. Die Kombination des rostfarbenen Parkas aus dem Hause RVLT mit simplen weißen Shorts und einem weißen Shirt wirkt unglaublich ausdrucksstark. Und das ganz ohne weitere Accessoires. Hier zeigt sich die Wirkung der Farbe. Farbiger Minimalismus at its best!

The first outfit contains one, if not THE, color of late summer/early autumn. Rust! To me this color is magical. Somewhere between orange and red it possesses the passion of red and yet the safety of the rising/setting sun. The combination of the rust colored Parka from RVLT with simple white shorts and a white shirt appears unbelievable expressive. Without any accessory it shoes how strong this color works. Colorful minimalism at its best!

Im zweiten Look habe Ich bewusst eine Farbe gewählt, deren Wirkung etwas kontrovers diskutiert wird. Einerseits steht sie für die Sonne, hell und freundlich. Andererseits gilt sie als giftig. Eigentlich war ich nie ein Fan dieser Farbe. Als mir dieser Sweater jedoch bei Weekday entgegen schien, konnte ich nicht anders als ihn mitzunehmen. Ein sattes, volles Gelb! Auf Weiß getragen, kommt die Farbe sehr gelungen zur Geltung. Auch auf Schwarz lässt sie sich gut tragen. Fällt eben wirklich auf.. Für den kommenden Herbst wurden Gelb und Orange übrigens als Trendfarben eingestuft. Mal sehen wie viel wir davon sehen werden.

For the second look I have chosen a color, which people evaluate different. On the one hand it stands for the sun, bright and friendly. On the other hand it is acid. Actually I was never a big fan of that color. But at the moment it was shining down on me in the Weekday store, I just had to buy it. A saturated and powerful yellow! Worn on white, this color is successfully presented. You can even wear it on black. For the upcoming autumn it was claimed as the trend color. Let's see where it will appear.

The perfect suit.

Wie Ihr ja wisst bin ich ein großer Fan schlichter und eleganter Mode mit engen Schnitten. Ob sportlich, lässig oder eher chic spielt da keine Rolle, lediglich sauber sollte ein Look wirken. Da mache ich auch bei Anzügen keine Zugeständnisse. Doch leider Gottes gleicht die Suche nach einem perfekt sitzenden Anzug der Suche nach der Nadel im Heuhaufen. Dabei braucht doch jeder Mann einen eben solchen. (Für mich vor allem für Präsentationen oder die alljährliche Weihnachtszusammenkunft.) Also hörte ich mich erstmal ein wenig um! Glücklicherweise bin ich bei meinem Job in der Outfittery von einigen fachkundigen Herren umgeben, welche mir schnell weiterhelfen konnten. Mein Kollege empfahl mir wie aus der Pistole geschossen die Anzüge von strellson. Sein Hauptargument waren die sehr körperbetonten und schlichten Schnitte. Also schaute ich mich etwas bei besagtem Anbieter um. Was der strellson Online Shop an Anzügen hergab war mehr als üppig - und überzeugend. Eigentlich wollte ich ja eine klassische schwarz weiß Kombination, doch bei dem vielfältigen Angebot wurde ich etwas kreativer. Aber hey, seht selbst :)

As you know I am a big fan of simple but yet elegant looks. It doesn't matter for which occasion, just keeping it clean is important. That rule applies to suits as well! Unfortunately it is quite difficult to find a perfectly fitting one.. and yet every man should have one. In my case, I would use it for presentations or the annual family dinner on christmas eve. So I started to look around. Fortunately I work at Outfittery where I am surrounded by a bunch of competent men. So I asked around and a colleague told me about strellson. He pointed out that their suits have a very special tailored cut and clean look. That convinced me, so I gave it a try. It turned out to be the best decision. The variety of models was overwhelming, so I became a little bit creative. But please, see by yourself :)

Die erste Kombination ist die eben erwähnte klassische Variante. Ein schwarzer Anzug mit extra slim Schnitt, dazu schwarze Herrenschuhe, ein schwarzer Gürtel und zwei mögliche Krawatten. Alles ganz klassisch und hervorragend für Anlässe aller Art geeignet. Die Aktenasche finde ich besonders Klasse. Sie ergänzt das Outfit, wenn es mal ins Büro geht.

The first combination is more classic. A black suit (extra slim), with black shoes, a black belt and two suiting ties. A simple black suit look perfect for many occasions. By combining the brief bag to it, you can use it for days in the office as well.

Die zweite Kombination ist eher legere angehaucht und lässt sich sowohl in der Freizeit als auch im Office tragen. Das Zusammenspiel des grauen Anzuges mit weißen high-top Sneakern wirkt elegant aber dennoch sportlich leicht. Akzente setzen die sandfarbene Krawatte und passend dazu die Sonnenbrille, ohne dabei zu sehr herauszustechen. Damit man nicht auf seine Gadgets und Unterlagen verzichten muss, gibt es einen dunklen Lederrucksack dazu. Business casual eben!

The second combination is more legere which makes it possible to wear it in the spare time. But you can also wear it in the office. The combination of a grey suit with white high top sneakers provides an elegant look, which is yet sporty. To accuentuate, I combine a sand colored tie to it. The sun glasses give it a even more cool look. Not to forget the leather backpack, which allows you to carry all your stuff around and look even more fashionable!

Summer has come!

Hey guys, I am back! First of all I apologize for not posting all that time, but I had a reason: U N I V E R S I T Y. Most of you will know what that means and especially how stressy it can be at the end of the semester. This friday I handed in my projects and now I'm done .. literally :D 

Nevertheless I used my first free hours to shoot some of my new pieces (you can believe that I bought a lot in the past). And for this weeks outfit I decided to show you my new pattern shorts. Aren't they great? The pattern is very special! Therefore you cannot wear it every day and it can be tricky to combine it suitable. I tried it in a classy way for hot summer days with a fine net polo shirt and leather sandals. This weeks key accessoire is the white bag. Sure, you can put tons of stuff inside, but I have chosen it because it gives the whole look a more legere touch. The whole look is somewhere between 60's, polo and modern. Hope you like it as much as I do.

One of those lazy days.

We all know those days.. No motivation for anything, tired of last night out but you still have to go buy some food. That occurs most likely on sundays, as in my case. Sergej was visiting me and we wanted to get some food. But first I had to put some clothes on. But what do you wear if you don't care? We decided to make a post about how we dress in those situations because it is definitely part of a persons fashion identity. 

On lazy days we are in the comfy mode:

Nike running shoes, brown yoga pants, some white shirt and a parka to cover. Basically the only thing I can recommend is to wear matching colors. That makes the whole outfit look harmonious. That rule applies allways! Wear whatever you want BUT MATCH COLORS! Otherwise you might look like a bum :D

Flowers in autumn.

Autumn in Mexico is completely different to autumn in Europe. That's for sure! Instead of falling leaves, rain and cold weather one can enjoy sun, 20 degree and cactus. Just joking! To be honest: I love it! But somehow I miss the opportunity to wear scarf and coats. Nevertheless I bought me some pieces for the season. Some shoes, shirts and a jacket. Easy as it is, I climbed the roof of my apartment and took some photos. This time with my friend Federico, who is also an exchange student (From Italy) in Mexico. 

I decided to stay in a grey mood regarding this outfit. Black shoes - black socks. Grey trousers and a bordeaux/brown colored flower print shirt. To stay warm a grey down jacket, because it may get cold… someday! I hope you like the outfit and tell me your opinion :)
